"Sweep and Clear" is my short VFX film. This is a real-time VFX short film I created using Unreal Engine as part of MacInnes Studios Real-Time Shorts who supplied the motion capture troops and set. My idea was to be the fly on the wall camera, showing the behind the scenes from a VR type 360 perspective. I added dramatic lighting, post FX, and all the moving cinematic camera shots and edit. This is (officially?) re-enacted footage of the Seal Team 6 Breach on Bin Laden's compound, using motion-captured suits on fully equipped soldier actors. You can see the downed helo in the background of my intro shot. As a DP the idea was to try to match the feel in the footage from 'Zero Dark Thirty' but take into consideration this is 3d, and using my current compound lowlight setup, and post-process fx like bloom, LUTs and gamma correction fine tuned for each cut.

In Unreal Engine I view myself as a Creative Director and Art Director, I create and make things exist. I put things into a real time interactive 3d environment and create media, apps, websites, VR experiences, kiosks, tradeshow displays etc. The military simulation content is just one small aspect of my work.
